In early September 2009 I had the opportunity to buy two lovely foundation appaloosa
mares from MastersCreek Ranch
They add two new bloodlines to my herd, and I am very excited to own
two living pieces of foundation appaloosa history.
These mares are classical - beautiful heads, outstanding
conformation, pedigrees to drool over.
They are gentle, quiet and possess all the qualities
I look for in a high-class, extremely well bred horse.
I would like to thank Joe and Jane at Masters Creek for giving
me the opportunity to own such living treasures.
EASTOWEST ELENA - ApHC # 601532 - FAHR # 694
Black, few spot leopard mare born in 2000. She has a double cross to
Money Creeks Rockledge (Ghost Wind Stallion) who is one of my
favorite all-time stallions. She is 100 % FPD, and has already produced several
outstanding foals and is a wonderful mother. This mare reminds me of the
white marble horse statues carved by the ancient Greek sculptors - she has
a classical refinement not found in many foundation appaloosas. She shows
baroque and arabian influences, also unusual traits for a 100% appaloosa.
She has a beautiful head with gentle soulful eyes, a refined throatlatch that ties into a
proud arched neck which in turn blends into a smooth as silk body.
Elena exudes classical elegance.

Her sire is PVSTHUNDERSMEMORY, an absolutely breathtaking,
big-spotted black leopard stallion.
Her dam is ULRICH ESPERANZA, a few spot mare from the famous
Ulrich Ranch known for their foundation leopard bloodlines, good dispositions
and indian shuffler genes.
Pratt Fire Secret (photo below)
This is a black -based snowcap mare born in 2000.
She is one of the last horses bred by Alice Pratt at Sweet Home, Oregon.
'Fire Secret' is 97% FPD and has a single-foot indian shuffle gait.
Her bloodlines include Pratt Sully Fire, Pratt Toby Secret (going back to the
Argentine Imported Leopards!), Chief Chelsea,(ghost wind bloodlines)
- she also has two close-up crosses to the Toby stallions who descend from original
Nez Perce stock and many other early pacific northwest foundation appaloosas.
She is a real beauty. Small, finely sculptured head, short-backed, compact efficent body,
and smooth flowing lines, strong legs without coarseness. She has already produced
several outstanding foals, including a very loud black leopard spotted colt and a good
few spot leopard sire who is producing gorgeous foals, a testament to the foundation
bloodlines of this outstanding mare.
